Most of us distribute Zakat in the month of Ramzan though it can be given throughout the year. ERWO is grateful for your continued support.
In view of the holy month of Ramzan, this is a soft reminder for allocating a generous amount for ERWO which has built a 10,000 sq/ft. eye center in Nawabshah. Another 11,000 sq/ft is nearing completion to bring the build up area equal to 21,000 sq/ft. Later on another two floors of 5,000 sq/ft each will be added as and when the demand grows. It was inaugurated on September 1, 2019.
The Elza Retina Welfare Organization (ERWO) was founded in 2017 by Dr. M. Mukhtar Ahmed to provide free treatment for eye diseases to those in need. We are dedicated to treating conditions that cause blindness, including cataracts, glaucoma, and trauma, with a special priority on retinal diseases.
We are dedicated to the prevention, early detection, and timely treatment of all eye diseases that cause blindness. Our goal is to ensure these critical services are accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial status.
ERWO stands as the first and only retina welfare NGO in Pakistan, dedicated to preventing and treating blinding diseases completely free for the deserving poor. Through collaborations with the Red Cross and our new hub in Nawabshah, we are expanding our reach to ensure international-standard care is accessible to unserved communities.

A plot of land measuring about 4000sq.yrd in Nawabshah was donated by Tariq Masood Arain and Arshad Awan. The boundary wall was completed in the same year.
Construction of the (phase 1) hospital was started. An area of 4000sq/ft. was built to accommodate the clinics and operation theater.
On 1st September the hospital was inaugurated. Outpatient treatment and day care surgery were started. Within three month 30 + patient came daily
Within three months of this year the number of patient had increased to 50+ daily. Over a hundred and fifty operations have been carried out in a month.
Within six months of this year the number of patient had increased to 80+ daily. Over TWO hundred operations have been carried out in a month. 800 sft sea container accomodation and a canteen were added.
Within Four months of this year the number of patient had increased to 150+ daily. Over a Three hundred Fifty operations have been carried out in a month.
ERWO is now registered and tax exempted charity in USA. It is registered as “FRIENDS OF ERWO INC”.
